Router Bits & Flush Trim Bits

The right bit makes the cut. Flush trim bits follow a template or edge with a bearing, chamfer bits ease edges at 45°, and surfacing bits flatten slabs and spoilboards. A full set covers most profiles for a new router table.

1/4 in. or 1/2 in. shank?

Use 1/2 in. shanks for large bits and heavy cuts when your router accepts them. 1/4 in. suits trim routers.

Top or bottom bearing?

A top bearing follows a template above the work; a bottom bearing follows a template or edge below.

How to set up a router table

A router table is only as accurate as its plate and lift. A flat, level plate and fine height adjustment make repeat cuts easy.

Add a straight fence and featherboards to keep stock tight and your hands clear.
