Mortise & Tenon Tools
Mortise and tenon is the classic joint for chairs, tables and doors. A mortising jig guides your router so every slot is the same width, depth and position, and a saw guide keeps tenon cheeks square. The result is a joint that fits off the tool instead of after an hour of paring.
Router jig or hollow chisel?
A router jig is quick and clean for many identical mortises. A hollow mortising chisel makes square-cornered mortises in a drill press or mortiser.
What size mortise should I cut?
A common rule is one third of the stock thickness, for example a 1/4 in. mortise in 3/4 in. stock.
What warranty and returns do I get?
Every tool ships free in the US with a 12-month warranty and 30-day returns.
Buying guide
How to choose a joinery jig
The right jig turns joinery from guesswork into a repeatable setup. Machined aluminum bodies hold their reference faces, so every hole lands at the same depth and angle.
Match the jig to the joint: pocket holes for fast cabinets and face frames, dowels for hidden alignment, mortise and dovetail jigs for furniture that shows its craft.
Pocket or dowel?
Pocket holes are faster and need fewer clamps; dowels hide completely and align panels.
Set the stop collar
Bit depth is what makes a pocket joint hold. Set it once per stock thickness.
Clamp across the joint
A face clamp keeps boards flush while screws pull the joint closed.
